Time Lines

I tried to search the forums but only could find info related to v6. In version 5, from time to time my timeline gets corrupt. I am unable to skip forward or backwards and have to watch the entire show from beginning to end. If I do try to move around typically it just send me to the beginning on other occasions it starts to lock up. Is this normal that it happens from time to time without reason, or is there a known way of fixing it?

My screwed up time lines didn't seem dependent on the Sage version, rather it happened when I upgraded my Happauge drivers. I run both a PVR-250 and a PVR-150, and reverted back to the drivers on this page:

http://www.shspvr.com/pvr2_drv-apps.html

and since then all is well, both under v5 and v6.

enkil76,

I usually use SageTVTranscoder to fix the timeline when a file is corroupted. I use the batch file below. All it does is create a new file with the timeline fixed. Then all I do is replace the old file with the new. I right click on the file and do an open with and point to my batchfile.

FIXTIMELINE.bat

"C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageTVTranscoder.exe" -i %1 -target dvd -acodec copy -vcodec copy c:\%~n1.mpg

If you are using Hauppauge tuners, this thread might help. I had the same problems, and after upgrading the driver and applying the registry fix I haven't had a single corrupted timeline yet

Should have mentioned the tuners. Two Avermedia A180s. Most of the time they are great, but once in a while.....

I am using the FusionHDTV5 Lite and get these kind of corruptions now and then.. Jerico in HD this week shows a length of 5:59 when I try to open it with WMP, inside Sage it seems like I get about 10 minutes per full line, then when I rewind I can hit or miss different parts of the show to watch for another 10 or so..

I used to run an avermedia pvr500. The sound was HORRIBLE.

Hauppauge all the way from now on!
