Do you know if this is a SATA drive (for the little red cable) or on of the older EIDE type drives with the big cable?

as per the info in the OP, and at the link, it is PATA, the older EIDE style. Fry's had some 400GB SATA's for around $99, but it looks they are gone now.

Outpost has the 750s still for $299. Of course, unless you are short on drive bays, the 400,000,000,000B (372GB) is $.24/GB, which is just CRAZY.

crud. i have a spare PATA and SATA port, but since the new house and all (and i think my current PS is taxed out) i'll have to pass

however, I do have that 250gb sitting 'idle' in my old router i've been meaning to migrate into the new box. guess it'll be back to UNC paths again.

looks like it's gone. link shows $89, but when you add it to your cart, it is $119!

They also added the "Limit 4 per Household" line.

On the 17th, they had the "limit of 4" line, but I ordered one and it was $89. Is the price difference due to shipping and any taxes?
I seem to recall a notification about limited quantities as well. They may have run out of current inventory and raised the price.

Well I missed the boat on that deal, but I just saw this:

http://www.nfl.com/standings/conference

109.99 for 400 (372GB) is just 29.5c a GB! I think I might spend an extra $5 and get a PATA drive (or 2) I got 2 channels doin nothin.

Hmm, now Frys has the 400GB Seagate for $120. It has twice the cache as the Samsung drive, I htink I'll stick with Seagate.

just check prices regularly, Fry has this $99 deal for 400G quite a few times this year already. So if you missed it this time, just wait for the next one, most likely in a few weeks.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a Seagate 7200.10 500G and 7200.9 250G combo deal from Newegg.com for $230, not a bad price for 750G combined.
