I am really disappointed in the new “Music Media” part of Sage for v6. It seems to work ok for my pictures, but after trying many different things, my music does not work well at all. I can not get the tagging information to display correctly and even if it did I am not really sure I like the interface.

I am really, really sorry to hear that. You are refering to APE files on v6?

Can anyone make a recommendation of a plugin I can use with Sage that might give me a better interface to play music?

I am not really up on all the plugins but, AFIK, there are ones that basically replaces sage's music "engine" with better engines like winamp but interface is the problem with the closed library of Sage (such as importing from J River, for example).

Or another media center to use that I could use sage as a plugin? I just looked a “Meedio”, but it looks like it is no longer sold/supported. Thanks, Chad

As a J River user, your options are limited if you want to use J River in your HTPC. There is only Meedio which has a really great plugin (
here). Meedio is now YahooGoTV (in early beta), but v 1.41 is avalible and is free (
here). The community there is still producing plugins like they did before the buyout. I normally warn that Meedio is a bit of a project though. Its not an install and go product but more of a hobbiests HTPC program. The reward is a very configurable system with tons of metadata and external program support. I now add that with Meedio's future being uncertain, though it will definately be avaliable free as YahooGoTV when done and will be most likely compatible with Meedio plugins, there is a slight question mark as to the possibility that configuring Meedio now might be a waste of time if YGTV comes out a terrible product. On the other hand, it might come out just like Meedio but with alot of web integration and a much better PVR component. One way or the other, after more than 2 years I am still waiting to consolidate my system down to one interface/program which just does all the basic things well with no threat of being DRM'd (like MCE).
