You can map IR codes to the up and down arrows on a keyboard.

I have a VB6 program that uses the IE object, not IE itself. My program reacts to incoming IR commands from an "IRman" device on a serial port. The program presents the user with a menu of websites to go to and local DHTML pages (home automation, home weather station, family photos sorted by date/folder/unviewed-old, etc.).

I couldn't find such a program commercially or shareware.

Very high WAF.

Steve, sounds very interesting. Is this something you would like to share?

I would be happy to, BUT, it is a huge collection of VB6 code and you'd have to be quite VB6 experienced to adapt it to your environment.

It has an optional link to HomeSeer (home automation software), and to another VB6 program I have which does talking Caller ID on whole-house speakers and keeps a log of calls as a web page.

Also does TV program listings (pre-dates Sage) and in a form that can be vertically scrolled, with detailed program descriptions.

There's a web server on this PC too.

Steve,

Bring it on!!!

Throw it out here as open source and watch it grow. Or shrink in the cases where people only need certain parts. Guess I am going to have to load that MS Visual Studio product again.

BTW: Opera is much better than IE for HTPC purposes:
It has a 'proper' zoom mode where fonts, images, and border positions are zoomed, so you have the impression that the whole web page is zoomed.
