Little video lag with VRM9 and v.6

Hi,

I am presently using v6 with the following video setting:

card: Nvidia 6800GT
parameters:

decoder: Nvidia Video decoder
rendered: VRM9
all other are to default

I ran with those setting for a long while in v.5 without any incident or lag whatsoever. Since I installed v.6 (no other change to the system or parameters...), when I listen to a video or to live tv, once in a while I get a little lag (freeze of the image for about a second) and then it resync with the sound.

The more I let it play, the more frequent the lag happens.

I try to change the decoder, but no effect. I change toe renderer to default or overlay, and I don't have the lag, but it bring me other problems, including image quality issues.

Is there anybody who encontered this also ? Or anybody know how I can fix this, or if this appear to be a bug. I can provide whatever details that can help in solving this issue..

Thanks !

Z.

Stutter started with v6 and VMR9 (no other changes)

I have a similar problem, same video card. The video seems to stutter. Noticed it right away after installed v6 from v5. I'm playing 100% HD.

I got rid of my stutter by switching from VMR9 to overlay. I'm a little disappointed now that I've lost my transparent menus.

Hi,

I did a fresh install of 6.0.12 and copy my wiz.bin and now I don't have this problem anymore.

You may want to try this.

Thanks,

I'll give it a try.

Does that file contain the shows database?

I made a backup copy of my SageTV directory. Uninstalled (also deleted the Program Files/SageTV directory after uninstall), Rebooted, Reinstalled 6.0.13 (beta). Copied my wiz.bin, wiz.bak and sage.properties files back, reconfigured my tuners and playback settings.

Still getting a glittery playback using VMR9. I'm not using a standard resolution due to my tv and overscan. I had this problem about a year ago when I first installed sage v4 (I switched to Overlay). I tried VMR9 again when I upgraded to version 5 and left enabled since.

Guess I need to make sure I have updated drivers for my video card. 1 year ago my video card drivers that came on CD did support HDTV output but the latest drivers from Nvidia's website did not. Took me a week just to get the output working correctly on my HDTV.

I'm going to assume my glittery playback is not Sage but my video card using VMR9.

The other thing to try was to just restore your wiz.bin. Spend the time configuring Sage instead of using a previous .properties file. For whatever reason starting with a fresh one fixes issues.

Same problem

I have the same problem. I have an ATI 9550 with the Nvidia Pure codec and never had a problem in V5. I upgraded to V6 no problem but the first time I started Sage it hung on the Database Upgrade. After 3 hours of it doing nothing I killed it - rebooted and tried to start again. This time left it running all night and it still just hung. I then uninstalled v6 deleted the directory and reinstalled fresh with the beta. Everything installed fine started ok configured fine but when I went to use it - it studdered every couple seconds. Tried changing the audio settings and the video codec to defaults with the same results.

So back to V5 I went with a fresh install and then copied my backup settings to it and everything worked fine. For a while - now even in version 5 I get the studdering.

I'm not sure what I can do other than email support.
