No LiveCD for amd64/2006.0

Hi all,

I'm new to sage and this forum and was just attempting to follow the linux package install instructions. It specifically says to use the LiveCD for version 2006.0, but I can't find a LiveCD download on any of the mirrors for amd64 (it's there for x86, though)...

I noticed that there is a livecd download for amd64/2006.1. Is 2006.1 version ok to use? If not, does anyone know where I can get the livecd for amd64/2006.0?

By the way, I did search for this, but in the only post I found regarding 2006.1, someone posted that they couldn't make it work...

TIA,
-Gary

Just an update - I gave up on looking for the livecd 2006.0 for amd64 (it apparently doesn't exist). I'm just using the x86 version instead...

The x86 is ok the genkernel build builds all drivers for all hardware and prossesors. But i your make.conf ( before you run sagesetup.sh ) change the top line
CFLAGS="-march=i686 -O2 -pipe"
change the i686 to one below that matches your prossesor this way the packages compiles will be optmized for your machine
k6, i386, i486, i586 (Pentium), i686 (Pentium Pro), pentium, pentiumpro

you do this by nano /etc/make.conf
