Daylight Savings Problem?

A daylight savings timeshift occured last night: clocks set back an hour.

All EPG data on my Sage setup is shifted by an hour. The time is correct (currently 1:00pm EST as I type this) but the guide is showing data for an hour from now.

I checked the XMLTV data, and it shows the proper data and proper shows for what should be playing right now (football dammit!).

I stopped and restarted Sage to no avail.

Anyone else seeing this? I don't remember this happening in the spring when we "sprang forward".

Anyone? Anyone?

I ran the batch file I created, which grabs listings via xmltv, and the daylight savings issue went away.

I think I was wrong: the problem seems to be in the XMLTV data, all shows off by one hour.

I notice that the grabber now shows my timezone as -0500 instead of -0400 as before.

And there doesn't seem to be an override for the time zone when grabbing data. Zap2it's site shows proper data, so maybe it's a bug in the xmltv app (I use version 0.5.15).

Well, you are right, I checked and mine shows the 0500 now instead of 0400 also. I'm not going to worry about fixing it, will manually for this week as national epg data should be available in sage as ov November 1st.

Does anyone know if that is still the plan? to have National EPG data for the US available starting Nov 1st?

Make sure that you have your timezone set properly when using XMLTV. My batch file had "SET TX=CST6CDT" rather than "SET TZ=CST6CDT" and I was off by one hour. After making the fix, I reran my XMLTV batch file and then forced Sage to reload the results by removing a channel then adding it back.

CST6CDT is the time zone code for central time US.

OK, it's fixed. Not sure what's different, but I downloading XMLTV data (again) and forced a guide update by removing then re-adding a channel (again) and this time everything checks out.

Not sure why it's OK now and not before, but I did uncheck "Synchronize System Clock with SageTV Server".

Back to TV now.
