Channel Changing Woes... Help
I've had my sage up and running for a couple of years now. And not really had any problems. Recently (last couple of weeks) I have been having problems with the system not changing to the proper channel, usually while it's trying to record one of my favorites. Not sure what the problem is. I have noticed that it misses usually the first number. So for instance it is trying to tune in Sci-Fi which is channel 122 on my system is misses the 1 and tried 22 and since there is no channel 22 it changes to the closest channel which is NBC 25. Obviously not acceptable..
So here is my setup WindowsXP up to date Sage 6.012 (just upgraded from 5.04 to fix this problem, didn't help) Java 1.4.2 SageMC STV 6.2.0a Webserver 2.09 DIRMon and Showanalyser (newest builds) Girder 3.3 Dish 301 STB USB-UIRT with IRBlaster I have tried the following in my .ir file Here is the original Dish 56000 411 3 300 50 RepeatCount 3 Here is a new one I found on this site Dish 56000 0 3 600 800 RepeatCount 10 any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. This is getting kinda old. Also everything was working just fine. Then all of a sudden it started doing this, so I have since upgraded everything to the newest versions to see if that would fix the problem.. Thanks Mike Last edited by Mikeydog; 10-26-2006 at 12:34 PM. |

I've had this same problem with a Dish 311. Dish changed something starting 10-14 days ago. Prior to that Sage channel changing worked perfectly for months.
I don't watch a lot of TV and I've noticed that when I first wake-up Sage with, "Watch Live TV" or similar there is a black screen with Dish logo on it; like the Satellite receiver is sleeping. During auto-recording the first digit of the channel gets eaten waking-up the receiver. Last night I disabled "power off when inactive" in the Dish setup menu. Don't know yet if that will solve the problem. I will post back after some testing. I only record 2-3 shows a week so it will be a few days. I look forward to reading any other ideas/solutions regarding this issue. -Cathy |

Actually I have seen that sleep screen on the dish. I thought maybe sage had tuned a bum channel or something. I will look into that sleep option also.
thanks for the suggestion.. Mike |

I have the exact same prob. However, I don't think it's with the dish "sleep screen" or whatever. I set mine up to record channel 122 as well, while watching something else i saw the channel flip to channel 22, since there is no 22 here it went to 16. This is an issue and it's hosing up my Battlestar Galactica recordings which is a big time prob in my book

Any chance Dish supports a serial rather than IR to change the STB? I have DTV and I have yet to have a channel changing problem with serial connections.
