Lirc Integration Information
I've just setup an Ubuntu 6.06 box running the stable (non-beta) version of the SageTV Linux Client (http://download.sage.tv/linuxweb/miniclient.tar.gz).
Everything's running great, but I have one problem: getting my Logitech/AST serial remote to work through Lirc. Lircd is working properly, as I've tested it through 'irw' and even the SageTV client reads its commands as I push buttons. My problem is that the default Lircd commands setup for this remote don't work with SageTV. I've even gone so far as to run the Java jar files through 'strings' looking for any tips as to what SageTV expects to receive as commands, but haven't had any luck there either. I'm so close to getting this solved, but I'm missing one final setup I'm afraid. If anyone has run across this similar issue, with possibly a different remote setup even, please pass along any tips that you may have to help me get this up and running. Thanks in advance... |

Answer to Lirc Integration Question
Okay... I've answered my own question. I was basically making this much harder than it needed to be.
If you're able to see your remote commands being received by SageTV successfully, all you need to do is remap those commands to SageTV functions through the Detailed Setup section. Settings -> Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link Infrared/Keystroke to SageTV Command Just select the function you want to map, then hit the button to use on the remote. I'm an idiot, but hopefully my stupidity will pay off for someone who might have this same issue... |
