Direct TV Receivers
I have got to get rid of my cable!!! I used to have direct tv connected to a Tivo via serial ports and loved it. Now I want to do the same with my Sage Setup. Can anyone give reccomendations for Direct Tv receivers that work with the current BETA of Sage and also have a serial port??
All suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will post a list of what a find out and any additional research that I do. ED

I think most people on here have the best results with the D10-100 which can be used with serial very reliably and you can even shut off the DirectTV 'menu' that pops up on channel change with this receiver.

D10-100s work perfectly with serial control and are fairly cheaply found on ebay.

I am using 2 Hughes HIRD-E4 "Platinum" recievers and have no problems. I am using sage beta 6, and both use the built-in serial tuning.
I found my second one on ebay, it was listed as an HIRD-E45.
