Disabling audio compression
I would like to know if SageTV uses audio compression (by default). If audio compression is enabled, I would like to be able to disable audio compression to maximize the sonic dynamic range in video music recordings.
Does anyone know if audio compression is used as a default? I am using the SageTV version 6.0.13.112 and a Hauupage PVR-350. Dave

Appendix H in the SageTV manual mentions creating custom recording qualities, which eventually leads to this text file that covers the format used for recording quality properties. The forum FAQ thread shows a few example custom qualities. Among other things, you can modify the audio bitrate, but it will still be compressed in the mpeg2 recording, as it goes from analog to digital format.
