add 4 tuner on a another machine
I have ran out of PCI slots on my board and thought of adding a 4 tuner to another PC. If I do this:
1. Do I have to buy another full version license (I am currently using a client license on this machine) 2. Will the PC with 3 cards be able to use this 4th card for recording? 3. Would I still connect the machine that would have one card as a client? If not will is still see the shows the machine with 3 cards has been recording? Thanks, Chad |

Appendix G in the SageTV manual talks about using another full installation of SageTV (with a 2nd license) as a network encoder. The main server will see the tuner on the other PC as a network encoder that can be used for recordings. The 2nd PC will be able to connect to the main server as a client.

Or you could add external USB tuners to your existing Sage machine. That's probably the simplest remedy for PCI slot shortage. Another option would be to replace one or more of your existing PCI tuners with dual-tuner cards.
