Hmmm, I don't have any idea about how I could do that. Maybe flachbar's favorite excluder can give me some ideas.

I was wondering if anybody knows if marking a favorite as ALL WATCHED would do this?

It only flags the airings that are currently in the wiz.bin. You could try using favorite excluder to flag any upcoming airings as watched and see if that does what you need.

Added a new test version to the first post. I've now finished adding the functions I want. As always, any requests for additions will be considered. If there's not too many complaints about glaring bugs, I'll label it as the successor to RW .my Files. When I do that, I will keep the current version of RW .my files available as RW Metadata doesn't work on SageTV version 5.

(2.0.6)
- Option to automatically import some fields from .my file to wiz.bin (overview/TVOverview, TVYear ,TVGenre)
- Edit Video Information in wiz.bin (stolen from SageMC)
Both can be enabled in Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Customize -> Metadata Options _> Metadata Management
- Return of the .my and properties delete buttons

John

Adding my file -> Wiz.bin support is awesome.
Thanx...

Was this tested with tv.com parser?
I parsed season 1 of Star Trek Original Series but the actors were not showing up in video details.
Is this related to not using service mode like from the IMDB search not saving actors into wiz.bin?

dvd_maniac, it only imports some fields from the .my file to wiz.bin (overview/TVOverview, TVYear ,TVGenre) There are so many variations in the way Actor data is stored in .my files that I'd really need to spend some time on figuring out how to parse it.

It's pretty much free-form in .my files, where the wiz.bin has 2 matched fields, a People list (Bill Smith,Harry Jones) and a Role list (Actor,Director) so you would lose all that role information (Bill Smith .... Man with the wooden leg) that you get in the .my file. I just have Always Read .my Files turned on then I get both displayed, but of course you still can't search on the .my file data. But by having the overview imported you do get to be able to search on your favorite example "Klingon" using Customize Search

I've also just realized that I wasn't catering for one of my hacks in the .my files to display new lines in overviews , so I've just updated the download.

The problem with saving from IMDB in non-service mode was fixed in SageTV 6.1.6 and another IMDB save problem was fixed in RW Metadata 2.0.5. I don't know of any bugs in this version.

One thing I didn't mention was that it performs the import of the .my file data into the wiz.bin when you go into View Video Detail for a video. There is an option to Always import any .my file data or to only import .my file data if there is nothing in the corresponding field in the wiz.bin

Actually, I hadn't, but I have now. I found a few tags that it's using that these imports weren't reading, so I've updated both versions again (apologies) for the reading and formatting the MyScrapper .my files. (Actors was OK)

(1.5.7)/(2.0.7)
- Added read of tags from pdavis' TV.COM Scrapper

Updated the Downloads.

(1.5.8)/(2.0.8)
- Changed some attribute names to eliminate possibility of confusion in 6.1 using the same attribute names
(2.0.8)
- Fix writing of incorrect Titles to properties files of imported videos
- Changes to Edit Video Info panel

Hi John,

I'm still a little lost with PDavis' tv.com parser.

I have installed 2.08 and have parsed a season of Star Trek and renamed the .my files to correspond with the video imported files then went into the video detail and the actors are still not showing up.

Hi dvd_maniac, Is Always Read my files set to YES

Can you zip one of the .my files and attach it for me to have a look at.

No it wasn't set to always read .my files.
Setting it to yes makes the actors appear just fine.
I was just hoping that the .my file would import the cast info into the wiz.bin with your new version.
Sorry i think i just misunderstood the changelog

I can see how that would happen. The MyScrapper files had some unique tags that the import wasn't parsing for display. I need to get my head around a nice way of getting them loaded into the wiz.bin. Ironically, I normally get my best ideas when posting about how it can't be done.

- Added Automatic and Manual import Cast from .my files into wiz.bin
- More detailed cast information saved from IMDB
- Removed restriction on Automatic file creation only working when Server UI was running
- Rework of Options panel

John

I don't suppose this includes rating which helps on Parental Control?

If not could it in a future release?

Editting the metadata to include a Rating really helps those of us that have been waiting for Video Import Parental Control.

Thanx JREkiwi for all your hard work on this awesome import...

I was starting to write that we'd need to get nielm to do an update to get that, but I've had a look through his IMDB Search code and see that the rating info is available (didn't realize that). I was hoping it would just be a quick 2 liner update, but it's in a format that would not be particularly useful, so I'll need to do some manipulation of it to get it into a SageTV acceptable format.

John,

The new STVI doesn't play nice with with my setup get a blank screen with just the Sage Icon. I am using Nielm's Dynamic menu, IMdb Search, your Autocompress and comskip also Evil penguins.

I had to back it off to the previous STV before I loaded your STVI and all is ok. I can see the menu.

Edit. I got it working I had to start over from the default STV loaded up the all the STVI's and I held back on loading dynamic menus till the end and it all works fine.

Slipped a fix into 2.1.0 for repeating expanded ratings saved into the wiz.bin from IMDB and made it the Current download version from here
