and one more thing

why after I search 'IMDB search', found teh data and save it, I am been prompt back to the main Sage6 menu, instead going back to the screen I was before (under imported videos?).
Can this be configured?

Thanks in advance.

You're not doing anything wrong. The images will appear on the next refresh of the video directories, which happens periodically and on a restart.

I'm just finishing off an update, which includes some panel changes, so my plan is to add some info to the first post this week.

A nicer "back" function is on my list of things to do, I just need to get my head around it

Thank you for your fast reply.
So far it works great.
What a simple plugin (yours and the original IMDB search) can do to my Sage.
The imported videos list is soooo colorfull now :-)
Thanks,

The "back" function will be in place. I will wait for an upgrade :-)

Just one question - it seems I have the 'IMDB Search" option twice... have do I remove one of them? Could be that I upload the IMDB xml import twice?

Thanks,

Amit

Amit, The best way is to just go back to the the default STV (Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> SageTV Application Package and select SageTV3.xml) and reimport your imports. Just a reminder, the IMDB Search import needs to be imported before this one.

This happens if you import the IMDB search stvi into an stv that already has it.

Everytime I import a new version of this plug-in or any other I always go back to the default STV (SageTV3.xml), go to C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3, delete all the SageTV-1, 2, 3 etc... and then reimport the latest plug-ins.

Hi John,

I had a kid's movie being blocked because of parental restrictions on NR movies. So, I went through the menus and changed the rating from NR to G. No more restriction.. Would there be a way to check to see if parental are enabled and prompt for the password prior to allowing access to the menu?

TIA

B

Sorry, yes. I would like to be challenged to change the rating if I have parental controls set. Otherwise, my kids could change the rating on any movie and make it accessible.

There's lots of different ways depending on where you are sourcing the information from.

I tried to write a bit of a walk through, but I just keep going in circles.

Possibly the simplest example is for an imported video movie if you have nielm's IMDB Search import and this import installed.

From the options menu for the video, if you do an IMDB search, you can then save the data from IMDB.

You can add detail information from a variety of sources and using a number of different methods.
1. Using .properties files (SageTV version 6)
2. Using .my files
3. Entering the data directly into the SageTV database via Edit Metadata or nielm's Webserver
4. Importing data from DVD Profiler
5. Saving data from IMDB
6. Creating .my files with pdavis' TVCOM Scrapper

I'll try to figure out how to write up something that's a bit more instructive.

John

What menu are you talking about? Are you talking about Nielm's Dynamic Customisable Menus?

Maybe a screenshot?

Custom Menu

Ok, I'm talking about the Main Menu, is there a way it could only show Media Center? The reason I'm asking is when other people use my MediaMVP I don't want them to change or mess things up...hope you understand!
