I'd still say installing the Hauppauge decoder would be a good idea, just because it makes testing easier (the WinTV app is not important though).

If SageTV doesn't work right with the Hauppauge's Intervideo non CSS decoder, than it most likely won't work with another decoder either. It also allows a comparison to find out if any other decoder is better or worse.

one thing you cannot install the intervideo decoder non css on a computer without a pvr card at least easily

and his problem was with the client

but I agree it is a nice starting point completely and a nice comparsion to what other decoders offer is nice as well


but I just that said because it is not required for installing the pvr card since he had installed winTV2k as well
