Aspect ratios not possible on MVP?
Just bought a wMVP (having some problems with the network, but) overall it is working great.
Image is much better than from the TV out on my Shuttle SN41G2V2! So I am thinking of moving the Shuttle server away from the living room and use the MVP for main 'sage viewing' instead of just using it upstairs (what I bought the MVP for initially). There;s one slight problem however. My TV is widescreen. I used to have it set up so that ratio 16x9 cut of black bars (some TV stations over here do that. They broadcast in widescreen but with the blac bars). I have like 134% vertical zoom that cut of the black bars nicely. Then use fill to stretch 4x3 broadcasts to fill the screen. But.... on the MVP, the zoom settings per aspect ratio settings don't seem to do anything?? Even if I go to 150% or more, the image doesn't change. I am using the latest beta of V6, might that be the problem?? It DOES still wotk on the server, just the MVP doesn't react to the zooming. Anyone else experience this? |

The aspect ratios don't work the same on the MVP.
With V6, there is a new setting "Display Aspect Ratio". In your case it should be set to 16:9. This way the bars will be placed correctly for DVDs, avi and such that have the aspect ratio flag set correctly. The only problem is that captured analog shows don't contain the flag so they are not shown correctly.

Is that the screen you get into when you first start Sage?
With the circle and the 4 (or 5) different ratios? How do I get back into that screen? It doesn't solve the problem by the way. I was using the different ratios of Sage to get rid of black bars that actually exist in the captured video. |
