Digital and analog tuners on one lineup?
I have 2 digital (primarily for HD) and 2 analog tuners. I previously had everything working well with 2 channel lineups: OTA broadcast for digital, standard cable for analog.
We recently moved, and currently I am only running the 2 analog tuners on cable until I can get the OTA antenna up and running. Then I want to use all 4 tuners OTA, using "encoder_merit" to favor the digital tuners, and use the analog tuners for conflict resolution. We use Favorites heavily. My question: Will Sage handle this gracefully? In most cases, any given channel to be recorded will have a digital and analog version. Encoder_merit should pick the digital tuners first if available, but how does Sage know to tune the channel with the proper signal format? Previously with 2 lineups, I was able to remove channels so that only digital channels were on the OTA lineup, and only analogs on cable. Now, I will have to keep both the analog and digital channels combined into one lineup. Gary |

version 6 has some option where you can tell SageTV to always record the HD show over the same show in SD. I'm sure its in the manual somwhere. Look it up or maybe wait for Opus4 (forum moderator) to chime in with the chapter, page number, and paragraph info on it.
