Griffin Powermate
I'm having trouble with a Griffin Powermate ( http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate/ ) that is on my SageTV pc. When Sage is running, any touch of the Powermate causes Sage to go to the main menu, regardless if Sage has focus. Ordinarily the Powermate serves as my volume control and I want it to serve that function in Sage as well. I have set up the Powermate control application to be volume for Sage but that is ignored. If it can't function in Sage then I would just like to disable Sage's response to it.
Any help is appreciated. Dave |

That's strange. I can't get my PowerMate to do anything SageTV related (haven't really tried yet), and when I touch mine, it just adjusts the system volume, with pushing the button, causing mute.
I haven't tried playing with it with SageTV.exe though, maybe it would work. If you don't want it to do anything, just delete the settings for it in the setup software.

Cool, well after half an hour playing around, here are some things you can do.
It seems like you have some settings in the PowerMate software that are causing problems, or, perhaps, you aren't running the latest version of the software (you can download it from their web site). I was able to make the PM to scroll up and down in the menus, select a menu item, and go back, all by using the "Send Key" function. Just find out what the "hot keys" are inside of SageTV, and use those to map over to the PowerMate software. I'm glad I did that, now I can control Sage via the PowerMate...

Fixed it!
Thanks for the replies Jason. Once you confirmed it worked ok for you, I started digging into the drivers. It turned out that even though I used the latest driver installation from their website, it repeatedly failed to install their powrmate.sys driver and gave me windows default drivers instead. Surprisingly, the windows defaults worked fine for all my other software but screwed up SageTV. With a manual driver install using the inf on the Powermate CD, it works as it should.
