Offset Issues
I'm getting some black space on either side of my screen.
When I use the auto adjust feature on my monitor the video takes up the full screen. This is inconvenient as it messes up my desktop when I leave full screen mode. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried the offset feature, but it seems like each channel is a little different. I have my aspect ratio mode set to source. Thanks.

In addition to adjusting the offset, try to adjust the zoom width/height to make the video slightly bigger. It is ok to have some of the video overflow the screen, since in normal TV viewing, there is around 5% of overscan.
The broadcasters use that overscan to make sure that there is video on the entire screen, without leaving any black space. Differnet TV's have different amounts of overscan, so the broadcasters put in extra overscan to compensate for it. With Sage, we can adjust the screen so we can see "everything", even the stuff regular people can't see. But if you adjust it too tight, you will sometimes get some black space if the video is smaller than your adjustment.

Here is how the guide defines the different aspect ratios:
Fill - Stretch the video to file the SageTV playback area Source - Use the video source information to determine the playback aspect ratio 4x3 - Force playback to fit the video into a 4x3 ratio area 16x9 - Force playback to fit the video into a 16x9 ratio area So Source works well on DVDs, because the video contains aspect ratio information. So a widescreen anamorphic DVD that fills the full 720x480 video will be displayed letter boxed on a 4x3 screen. You can use the other aspect ratios however you want, but you have to overcome their natural shape if you use them differently.
