Question PVR250 + PVR350 + WinXP Pro -- does this combination work with SageTV ?

I am new to SageTV, so this question may already have been answered ... but I did a quick search and didn't find this exact information ... so here goes.

I am planning to build new HTPC for the sole purpose of being used as a dual tuner PVR. I am planning to use one retail WinTV PVR 350 card and one WinTV PVR 250 card (that comes with the SageTV/PVR250 bundle). My OS will be Win XP Pro.

Does anyone know if this combination works ? Are there any known issues with this ? Will I be better off using two 350's instead of one 350 + one 250 ?

I have a another retail 350 card on another machine, so I could easily swap it with the Sage 250 and use two 350 cards on this new machine if there is any advantage.

As far as I know, the 350 and 250 use the same driver. So do I have to install the driver twice (once for each card) or just once will suffice ?

Here is the rest of my planned system specs if that matters

- Athlon XP 2000
- ASUS A7N8X Dlx
- 512MB RAM
- Antec Overture case + 380w power supply
- GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB video card
- 2 x WD200GB HDDs
- ATI Remote Wonder Remote (or I could use the Hauppauge remote if that's any better)
- LiteOn Airboard kb/mouse combo
- TV Card 1 : WinTV PVR 350
- TV Card 2 : WinTV PVR 250

Thanks in advance for any feedback !

I wouldn't recommend using 2 PVR-350s in the same machine. Some people have come across problems with that setup, plus it's not really necessary. You should have no problems with the PVR-250/350 combination.

I seem to be having problems with the 250/350 combination and the 21177 drivers. I have a slightly older version on the cd that came with my 350 in september, and they seem to have the same results. After a few hours, SageTv locks up. If I take one of the two cards out, it doesn't matter 250, or 350, the system become rock solid stable. Dan, is there any advice you can give me? I am running 1.4.10 on MCE2004 with MCE disabled, and Girder. I even have all extra services like remote desktop, auto updates, and themes turned off.

I am not too worried about it cause I don't plan on hard core recording or replacing my Tivo until Sage 2.0 comes out. I was about to try using my client license with the pvr 250 on an old PII 400 I have.
