High cpu usage with Purevideo
Hi,
I'm wondering if what im seeing in correct. I'm watching regular SD channels using (what I think) NVidia Purevideo decoder. The thing is my CPU usage is around 60%. I've selected "NVidia Video Post Processor" as video decoder. I don't know what else to do. CPU Sempron 2800+ RAM 1024MB NVidia 6600GT 93.71 driver |

NVidia Video Post Processor is software mode. If you want hardware acceleration you should select Nvidia Video Decoder (not sure if that's exactly what it's called, but it's the only other Nvidia choice listed).

but when i do, i no longer have the decoder's control panel tray icon available. that's why I used the Post Processor one. any hints on that?

That doesn't mean anything (that it's not accessible).

It's a known bug. The Nvidia decoder is still being used even though the tray icon doesn't show up.
If you need to access the tray icon you can either playback a recording using WMP or if the Nvidia decoder is your default decoder then you can select Default decoder in Sage instead of choosing the Nvidia Decoder by name and the tray icon will show up. |
