Windows XP MCE 2005 and Simple File Sharing to Windows XP problem
Hello,
I've just started having a problem with my SageTV Server running on Windows XP MCE 2005 OEM. I run SageTV Client on my Windows XP machine and over the last few days I've noticed that the Client will not delete files on the SageTV server. I hit delete and SageTV and the Client shows the file as gone but then it pops back up in both 5 minutes later and when I check the recording directory and it is still there. When I try a test deletion from the Windows XP (Client) in windows explorer it says I don't have permission. On the windows mce (server) I check that the directories are still shared and yes they are, allow network users to change my files, yes. I then check on the server that Simple File Sharing is enabled and yes it is. I try deleting the file on the client machine and windows explorer says error. I then check the properties on the recording directory and then 'unshare' it and then 'reshare' it ... 'uncheck' Simple File Sharing and then 'recheck' it. Now I can delete from SageTV Client and windows explorer on the client. I reboot the server every morning as I find SageTV and Windows XP MCE are much more stable. After rebooting the client machine no longer has permision to access or delete files from the Server recording directories. I was curious if anyone else has had this starting to happen and if they'd found any permanent solutions. I've been getting by each day by disabling and reenabling the share directories and Simple File Sharing so the client has full access to them. It isn't even Microsoft Tuesday yet ... Thanks for your time, Bobby ps- Hopefully it disappears as quickly as it appeared ...
