Harmony Remote IR Reciever Help
I recently purchased the Harmon/Kardon TC-30 (same as Logitech harmony remotes) and am trying to set it up with sagetv. I was trying to use the IR receiver that came with my ATI Theater 550 card, which worked but I had to use the remote that came with the ATI card to manually program my TC30. If I program the TC30 to work like a MCE remote the ATI IR receiver does not recognize the commands. So, yesterday I purchased a MCE remote and IR receiver off of ebay. What I'm hoping to do is use the MCE IR receiver with the TC30 programmed as a MCE remote to control sage. Will this work? Will I be able to open the sagetv program remotely with my controller?
I was using the Firefly remote to control my system but wanted to simplify things to just one remote. Any advice or info on working setups would be very helpful! Thanks! |

I am in the same boat as you, just ditched the firelfy and went to a Harmony remote. I also set it as a MCE remote using the MCE IR.
To get Sage to launch you can do a couple of things. 1. See this thread, sounds like you can do it this way: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22718 2. This is the route I am going, get a MCE keyboard laid out in this thread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...01&postcount=8 I hope to map some keys to Launch Sage etc. and then a couple more for iTunes.

I've successfully set up my Harmony 880 to launch SageTV with a MCE IR receiver using the first method listed here.
If the green start button isn't working on your remote, there's a couple of possible reasons... mouse/keyboard drivers (intellipoint from logitech, at least) block the green start button, and having fast user switching disabled apparently also disables it, but I haven't personally tested that. |
