One issue is the SageMPEGDeMux filter isnt complete in terms of H.264. On my system it would correctly render about half of the graph (forgot if it was audio or video side, probably audio). The other side just gets lost. I believe it is there intention to handle H264 outside of mplayer, i.e. in the dshow player.

All of you people arguing about date formats.. What you should REALLY be rallying against is proper use of time!.. 24h!!! I still don't understand this hippy 12h stuff.

Also, aid me in the fight to finally get through to sage and have them allow Americans to use 24h format in sage!. 3 versions later and I still can't

Of course it isn't! The problem is with sorting, where 20.01.2007 is bigger than 10.02.2007 - yyyymmdd is always correct, but use dates like that and everyone thinks you're a geek...

Well... I guess your right, if you wanted to store a date as an integer for some weird reason.

Actually if you store the string "20/10/2007" it would come after "10/12/2007" and if you use the month names it gets even worse. 20-Jan-2007 comes after 20-Dec-2007.

BobP.

Edit: Also I agree with you that 24hr time format is better for the same reason as YYYYMMDD format is best.

Say you want to store your photos in separate folders for date taken within a year - you want them to appear in date order, don't you?

Plus, if you've done any dos or shell scripting with dates, it becomes a little more important...

I think Sage will skip straight to 11. Why? Because it's one more than 10!

I wonder if anyone at Sage realized that they are breaking the license which mplayer is released under. If you modify mplayer in any way, you are required to share your source code! They can wrap up their specific code into external modules if they want, but they HAVE TO release the main mplayer source which they modified to call those modules.

Last I checked, their mplayer source code modifications were available upon request.

It's part of the GPL V2 which is included in c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\ThirdPartyLicence.txt, specifically, section 3

Opus - what I'm very confused about is whether there is a link I can bookmark to always download the very latest update. I'm seeing threads (like in the beta test software) that downloads RC2 6.017 and I even see threads to download 6.011 and others. Is there a link somewhere to just always click that will take me to the latest/greatest?

Thanks,
Mike

The latest release is always on the downloads page.

During a beta, the latest beta is in this beta forum.

I usually list the latest release or beta version in my sig lines.

Beat you to it - I requested their modified mplayer source yesterday morning and received a download link to it this evening. Let me know if you have a similar experience.
