Linux Mini Client Playback Issues

I have a recent install of Gentoo on my PC. I have a working SageTV Server install and running, it is fully functional from my other windows PCs. I installed the mini client today and I can connect to the server but I can't play any video. I get a "There was a Playback Error in playback. Details: sage.PlaybackException" Error message isn't telling what is broken, has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix it?

You should try running ldd on all the programs to see if any dependencies are missing.

which programs? Could you please be a little bit more specific.

Run ls in the sage client directory then for each file which is executable run ldd filename. This will list the dependencies of the file. If there are dependencies that are not found it will help finding which packages are missing.
