Can't access Purevideo settings
Hi,
I've spent the better part of today setting up sagetv and my HTPC in general. Things have gone about as well as could be expected, but I'm having a funny problem with the PureVideo decoders. That being, I can't seem to get into the display properties/settings. I have Decoder Version 0.4.02-223 (just downloaded today) installed and when I'm watching TV in Sage, I see the NVidia icon pop up in the tray. I am able to click "About" and a screen pops up, but when I click "Decoder Properties" nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and I've even made sure I'm running Nvidia's latest graphics drivers with my 6600GT. Anyone have a solution for me to be able to access the decoder properties? I'd really like to be able to tweak my settings... Thanks! |

To add more info, I downloaded and am using the trial version of PureVideo.

Try watching the MPEG2 file in Windows Media Player; the PureVideo decoder options should open.
If that works, make sure PureVideo is set as the Windows default MPEG codec via the Microsoft Video Decoder Checkup Util. Set SageTV to use Default and the tray icon should display while video is playing and be accessible (known bug).

WMP>DVD>Advanced will get you to the audio...or if AC3 Filter, last tab "Prefer Other Decoder"
Radlight Filter or DirectShow Filter - Managers will allow access to everything. Double Clicking the tray icon does nothing? P |

Hi,
Do you have any other decoders installed (other than the sage decoder that installs with sage)? If not, then in the detailed settings make sure your video decoder is set to "default" and not nvidia. If this is how you have it set now then my only other advice is to try the trial version of zoomplayer, which will allow you to get into and set the purevideo properties. HTH Jesse Edit: Looks like I am a little slow again.

I figured I'd reopen this thread. I'm trying to configure my nVidia decoder but when I click on the system tray icon, i don't get an option for decoder settings.
It does give me the control panel for my card, but nothing for the decoder. Any help would be apprieciated. Currently I'm running it in VMr9 to get widescreen.

the only way the purevideo icon will show up is if the decoder has the highest merit in the os and SageTV is set to use default. otherwise, open windows media player and look at the dvd playback options there with a disc in .
