I installed, but Sage doesn't even run.....

My TV card (PVR-250) works wonderfully if I simply

`./mplayer /dev/video0`

and in a separate terminal window do `ivtv-tune -c XX` to change channels

All of the errors look like java errors, but I am running the same java for everything as sage says to run 1.5.0 update 10.

I tried to run their stupid Gentoo CD, but it actually locks up my machine, and worse corrupted a partition on my hard drive (luckily I had it tarballed) before it even actually got into the installer, it was still booting.

I've attached the output from the server. This can't all be the version of Java I am running....

Either way, I'm going to try to see if I can get a refund and/or call 'the dog' if I can't get this thing going by the end of the week....this is piss poor installation support/instructions, especially considering they don't even point to or mirror packages to make things work, and MythTV is free and works just fine.....All I really wanted was placeshifter and MVP support, but at $100, it is definitely not worth the trouble for anyone who hasn't already made the purchase.

This is an OEM product that is really not supported except through OEM paid agreement. You can get help on the forum but not support. It is designed for the Gentoo isntall that seems to work for everyone BUT you so I wouldn't call it a bug. Are you using SUN java? It doesn't support any other version but Sun. There are also instructions and postings getting it running on other versions of Linux. And they just entered into an agreement with Linspire, which it runs on. You also need to make sure you meed the required hardware specs for a no-trouble installation. From the errors it looks like an issue with your network card not being recognized or configured.

Perhaps the problem was related to a Frey server being down? I noticed that Wiz.bin used to be 1.0k and now it is 6.0MB....as though something is downloaded during activation and didn't work.....

But I still get all the same java errors, and further I cannot change channels.

Here is an updated log file following adding /sbin into the path (not mentioned in the instructions) also, I updated the libIVTVCapture.so with the one you suggested in the other thread. There is still at least one Java error, but the software is working now....

Sorry to be so gruff before, but it is very frustrating when the card is working, other Java apps are working, but sage won't run.
