USB-UIRT, BellExpressVu and STBs woes

Hi guys, I am running 5.04 with a USB-UIRT attached pointing at my Bell STB (Bell 3100). Everything generally works just fine, however, once and a while (once every 2-4 weeks, but it varies), I turn on the when I watch ive TV from sage, I get some ugly white/blue box from the Bell STB. and my USB-UIRT changing channels no longers works.

Only way around it is to use my Bell remote, point it at the STB and change the channel and *then* my USB-UIRT begins to work properly.

Long story short, I was thinking if I reboot my SageTV Server each night, and once things startup, can I have sagetv attempt to set the TV channel on startup? In otherwords, it is 3am, I schedule my pc to reboot, when it comes back up ,and the sagetv service starts, can Sagetv, by default issue a channel change to the to say Channel 515, without any user input. This way @ 7am when I wake up, I will not have the blue box and the channel will have already been set to 515, regardless of where it was at before I went to bed.

I understand my email may be somewhat confusing, but I hope I explained what i am looking for.

Are you refering to the Bell screen saver that gives bouncing box and says 'press select to continue'? If so, then you need to disable the screen saver. Go into Installation==>system set==> automatic updates up on the STB. there is an option for 'perform nightly update'. If you disable it then the screen save won't come on. Don't ask me why it works or the logic but it solved my problem.
