Snapstream Decoder?
I love Sage for its fully integrated media center experience and for the SageMC STV. However, I haven't uninstalled BeyondTV from my machine in case I ever want to go back. I neverhad stuttering using with BeyondTV when using the Snapstream decoder (it was even better than nVidia's). Is there a way to get the SS decoder as an option in Sage?
Sorry if this is blasphemy, but I've tried everything else to get rid of 1080i stuttering. |

It's my understanding that Beyondtv uses the cyberlink decoder, which you should be able to purchase.

You can explicitly set the decoder in the properties file as well as add additional filter names to the list (just search the Sage.properties file for the currently selected decoder filter name). Also, please send in a bug report to betatest at sagetv dot com so we can get some debug info from you and add their filters to the default search list.

I have tested this out with the latest version of the Snapstream Decoder and it works incredibly well! I believe it works much better than the NVIDIA decoder and would highly recommend it (I currently own a legal copy of Beyond TV 4.6). For all 3 of you that might actually own both here is the line of code to add to the sage.properties file
videoframe/video_decoder_filter=SnapStream Video/SP Decoder Just for comparison on my system Core Duo T2600 1GB Ram PNY 7900gs, the NVIDIA used between 25%-30% system resources for HD playback, the Snapstream was at 20%-25%. More importantly to me was the fact that the playback of the SD channels looked at least twice as good less pixalization, macro blocking, way better for sports! |

Do you know where that file is located?
