Well, thank you sir! Good to hear that the old LCDSmartie is still supported by your plugin for SageTV. Once you get used to glancing at the 4 x 20 display showing all that info, you miss it when it stops working.
I'm using a parallel connected LCD but last month I finished up a PIC based USB interface that works fine, just need to buy an enclosure for it, do a little drilling and cutting and put it to work. Rob |

Multiple Playback devices?
Using Smartie, MizookLCD plugin and monitoring my 5 tuner devices: 2 HDHR QAM 1 HD PVR (Cable box) and 2 Analog (2250 card). All this works as does currently playing, but currently playing only works for the first playback device. I have 3 HD 300's, is there any way to see whats playing on anything other than the first device? Maybe by MAC address of the 300's??
My server is in a rack in the basement, but the display is extended to the bedroom with a Digi one SP (serial to ethernet adaptor to my serial display). Just power and an ethernet connection and my display is up.. To the author of MizookLCD plugin... Thanks for this, already improving the WAF! |

Any idea if the GetStatus plugin returns that information? If so, it should be fairly easy for me to modify the plugin to allow you to access it. If not, it's certainly not going to happen.

num_ui:
Seems to be in there: Num_ui:1 when only one HD300 is on and goes to 3 when they are all on. System was idle with HD300's on but not playing, when I grabbed this. Any other information I can share with you? The order is the order they were turned on "Attached" to the server. If you shut a HD300 off it will disappear from the list.

Still hoping to find some time to put a little more work into MizookLCD since folks are still finding it useful, but I haven't had much luck lately. On the off chance that someone else would like to take a swing at it, the source code is here:
http://mizook.com/lcd/mizooklcd-source.zip I converted the solution file and project files to Visual Studio 2010 format last time I looked at it, but the code itself is pretty vanilla - anything from 2005 up should be able to compile it I'd think. I'm sure a VB.NET >> C# converter would do a fine job on it if someone more familiar with C# wants to give it a look. |

Thanks for that. I am more a C# guy and would take a look but first I need to know more about the future of SageTV

does this still work?
I am using the latest release of sagtv 7. I have copied the now playing including the progress bar and I just get the current date for the title and a straight line for the progress bar.

Just wanted to make it official, I am no longer supporting this project. I no longer have an HTPC, let alone one with a built-in LCD and have many programming projects I would rather be working on.
The source code is still available and anyone who would like to take up the mantle has my blessing. It is written in VB.NET, I have included a Visual Studio 2010 project file and the free Visual Basic 2010 Express compiler should have no problem with it. One of the free online VB.NET to C# converters would like have no problem converting it over if C# is more your thing. If anyone takes up the source and wants to ask specific code questions, feel free to shoot me a PM. Best of luck to anyone who would like to continue using it. |
