OnAir Gt (autumnWave) Analog setup
I recently bought a new OnAir Gt tuner to capture Analog, DTV, and HDTV. What I didn’t know at the time of purchase is that although that card supports “real-time recording on Digital / Analog TV” is doesn’t support pausing Live TV or pausing while recording. Website says “Pause Live TV Show. (Digital TV Mode Only) Pause while recording (Digital TV Mode Only)” I don’t get this, Sage is receiving a data stream from the tuner and writing it to disk, why can’t it read from the data file its creating to playback the file? I know this is a limitation in the tuner, but this seems like it should be handled in SW.
Anyone got any ideas? EDIT: I failed to added that this configuration doesn't let me watch live ATV, only once the program is recorded in its entirety and not recording another ATV show can I view the program. Last edited by jokestr; 02-04-2007 at 05:04 PM. |

jokestr,
I think you're confused. The AutumnWave website lists the features for the OnAir HDTV Program... the 'OEM' program that is included for free with the tuner. SageTV is a '3rd party' program, and the software may have different (more/less) features than our included program. In other words... the features you listed (pause Live TV and pause while recording) are features of the 'OnAir HDTV Program', and may not necessarily be features of SageTV. - Ryan Pertusio AutumnWave Technical Support OnAir Solution North America http://www.autumnwave.com/ |

I'm told that pausing live playback while recording using this tuner should work fine. Perhaps provide more details on how you are recording.
There are some recording qualities for analog SD tuners which cannot be played while they are being recorded. - Andy

This is no longer an issue for me. Actually my configuration has changed quite a bit. I think the problem I was having is that I configured sage to only use the purevideo codec, instead of leaving it as default. By leaving it at default sage is free to select the most approproate codec for the signal its capturing. Which is the reason HD worked and analog didn't.
