SageTV Client: Keeping UI in Sync with MVP

I currently have an MVP as one client, and just cobbled together a PC to act as a second client (running the trial version of the SageTV Client, for the moment).

I'm used to importing STVIs and .xml files from the server into the MVP (e.g. Comskip Playback, Dynamic Menus, Video Editing, etc.), but with my PC client, I only see the local SageTV directory, not the Sage directory on the server. In other words, no apparent way to import customizations from the server.

The client connects to the server, and all of the stock features work properly.

Questions:

1) Is this just a functional difference between the MVP and PC-based clients?

2) Is it a limitation of running the client software in trial mode?

3) Is it a configuration issue I'm overlooking? (I've gone over the manual numerous times and things seem proper.)

4) If #1, that means extra management to keep the PC client interface in sync with the MVP. Is there a simple way to deal with this?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes-functional difference.
2. Not a limitation of trial mode.
3. Nope.
4. flachbar plugin helps-STVI Importer STVI Importer

I copy the STVIs and .xmls to each of my clients and up date them that way. That's the way is. For me I make it a rountine and do them all in one night, on at a time. If I miss an import I usually find out when I click and it doesn't work. flachbar has a plugin that when configured properly can import all of your STVIs in one fell swoop. Eases the pain.

Yes, MVPs/Placeshifters execute on the server (though they render on the remote device). Thus the directories they see appear as though they're on the server.

Client executes on the remote PC.

Nope.

You either have to share the server's directory and browse there on the client, or just copy the STVi/XML's to the client.

Not really, every instance of Sage (including individual MVPs/Placeshifters) is indepent.

Thanks, stranger & Gerry.

That pretty much confirms what I was thinking.
