Question Sage TV - Dish Network - Channel Changing

I am currently using SageTV 5 and PVR-150 with a Hauppauge IR Blaster.

The issue is that the IR blaster, and hauppauge remote, will not change the channel on my Dish Network 301 receiver. I have configured the remote correctly (as far as I can tell) using the Hauppauge software. The config software will change the channel and power off the unit using the 431 code that I saw recommended in a different post. Additionally, I can use the Hauppauge remote (and fo course blaster) to browse through, as well as change the channel in Sage TV. However, no matter what I try the channel on the Dish box will not change.

After searching the forum I have read through many posts where people had similiar issues, but none of thier resolutions work for me. I did try redoing the Source setup and have selected the Hauppause remote and the Hauppauge IR Blaster options.

Any help would be GREAT; this is the only thing keeping me from deploying the box to the living room... Well I do still need to run network and more coax cable through the attic, but were not counting that!

Thanks,
John

The only thing I can think of, if you haven't already done this, is if you are using SageTV in service mode, try using non-service mode.

Otherwise, if the Hauppauge IR config software is controlling the box via the blaster, but it isn't working when you select the Hauppauge IR blaster during source setup & no one else has a suggestion that works, then try SageTV tech support.

Stopping the service did help, but it doesn't send teh channel changes very well, channel 122 for example goes to channel 12 and then 2. I assume that that is a congif thing, I'll have to look into that.

Strange, any thoughts on why stopping the service might help, and how I can fix that? I plan to use a client.

Thanks,
John

There should be an option to adjust the time between signals.

Go to Detailed setup- setup video sources-click on the device...
You should see the options for the device that you entered- like the tuner type/composite, EPG etc...
Here there is also a control for IR codes- if I remember right, in the tuner config section. Try changing the speed of your IR signals from there.

I've seen this in Sage V5, I'm sure its also there in V6.

Been a while since I did this- but I guess you get the general idea . Hope this helps.

Good luck!

I rebooted the computer and the channel changing is now working as you might expect. However, if I re-enable the service mode I again lose the ability to change channels.

Thanks,
John
