Imported DVD Playback

I finally got the PVR-350 working with the help of this thread:
PVR-350 Confusion.

Now I need to see why the DVD playback of imported videos always indicates that there is No MediaPlayer. Is this support via Java that works for the Windows side and is here but not operational on the Linux side or is there a configuration problem on my Linux installation. Its a really great feature if I can get it to work.

The Linux UI is the Placeshifter client, which does not have the capability to play DVDs.

I was referring to the new Imported Video listing that displays DVD formatted directories as single elements not the ability to play a DVD on the client machine. The server correctly presents the DVD directory (with the VIDEO_TS directory in it) but if I try to play it then I get the error.

I did read your original post. What you describe is still considered a DVD & the Placeshifter client cannot play DVDs. Maybe they shouldn't even be listed in the PS UI, but that could be confusing too. Or, maybe the DVD view should just have a comment that the PS can't play them insted of listing them.

People used to import the VOBs & play them in a playlist on the MVPs. I don't know if that would work for the Placeshifter.

I see what you mean. The DVD playback is done using the same mechanism as using a local DVD drive. Understandable.

Are there any hooks that the client is using that might be hooked into a Linux-based DVD playback program?
