Clear my mind here...

I have been struggling over my IR blaster problems. I looked and it appears that I am using an old version of the Hauppauge Remote blaster software. Does sage use this software to control the IR blaster or does it use an internal module. If it uses the Hauppauge driver, I guess that could be the main problem. It appears that my software is several versions old.

So should I upgrade or will it matter?

Also, if I reload the Hauppage software, do I need to reinstall SageTV or just restart the service. If I need to reinstall, do I need to delete all the data associated with the old sage installation (i.e. delete the install directory), or just do a reinstall?

Thanks again,
Rob Hix

The Hauppauge IR blaster program has to be configured & running before starting SageTV, so SageTV is using the Hauppauge program in some manner.

I don't have an IR blaster from Hauppauge, but I think you just need to use the IR Blaster Config program to get the IR blaster working before you start SageTV.
