i am using the latest sagetray and i am getting this error when there is an upcoming recording,

Error Updating_Schedule: [Scheduled] Get Scheduled feed

when there is no upcoming recording scheduled, the tray icon displays a blue icon and everything is ok. but as soon as there is a warning of an upcoming recording, then it cannot retrieve the info.

i am using WinXP, SageTV 2.28, WebServer 2.14, & Java 1.6.0.3. my firewall, comodo 3, is disabled. it was working fine with this setup for a while, but all of a sudden, it doesn't work.

how can i fix this? thanks.

Hmm.. this indicates that SageTray got a null feed from the server. It has been a while since I've used webserver 2.14, so it is possible there is some incompatibility. If it is not too much trouble, I would suggest trying the latest webserver to see if it makes a difference. I think the latest is 2.22.
Another thing you might try is restarting the server.

Is it behaving the same as before? (Blue icon until show is pending?)

Maybe a SageTray setting got corrupted somehow. You could try the following:
1) exit sage tray
2) delete the SageTrayCfg.xml file
3) restart sage tray and reconfigure it's settings

i tried it, but it still didn't work.

i recently installed a new usb pci card in my pc and i hooked my wintv-usb2-pvr to it. do you think that could be the problem somehow?

EDIT: i think i found the problem. whenever i add American Idol as a favorite, for some reason, i get the error with the black/grey background in sagetray. as soon as i remove the favorite, i get the blue icon and everything is ok. this is with the latest sagetray and webserver 2.14 as v2.22 doesn't work with my setup.

i can set a timed recording when the show airs and it is fine, but i can't add it as a favorite. weird..!!??

Interesting. Maybe there is something SageTray doesn't like about the American Idol entry. I will check into it and see if I can duplicate the problem on my end.

k10ck3r, nice app. I just found it today and love it.

Would there be a way to add email notifications? This way I can have a text sent to my phone if something goes bad. or there is a conflict.

That's a good idea. I will check into it.

I am currently testing a build that provides this functionality. Would you be interested in beta testing the release? If so, I can send you a build to try out. Just email me at k10ck3r@gmail.com.

As long as you're coding...

How about the ability to show 'x' number of recent recordings also in the pop up (in a different highlighted color or something)?

I'll check into that and see what it will take to implement.

Version 1.2.12 posted

Version 1.2.12 [04/16/2008]

- Added option to send email notifications 1) when there is a system error and 2) when there are schedule conflicts

I am also looking into some other suggested enhancements, so I will hopefully be able to put together another release before too long. Let me know what you think about the email feature and if there are any other system events you might like to receive emails for.

The email feature is currently pre-configured for gmail, so if you use gmail, you shouldn't need to use the manual settings. Regular ISP SMTP servers usually don't need any special manual settings either. In my testing it seemed the manual settings were usually needed for web based email services.

Ok, this looks like it won't be too bad to implement. I'll get started on it!

Version 1.3.0 Posted

I should have bumped the version number from 1.2 to 1.3 with the last release that added email notifications, so I went ahead and did that for this release, which adds the ability to display recently recorded shows.

The feature to display recently recorded shows is disabled by default. To enable it, just go to the preferences tab, check the Show Recorded box and enter the max number to display (defaults to 5; a value of 0 shows all recorded).

Thanks to mdnttoker for beta testing.

Just noticed an issue with the end record time...not sure if this is a "feature" or a bug, let me know.

As you can see, the currently recording time is the current time, NOT the actual end time of the recording. The time keeps getting updated to match current system time, until the recording is over....

That would be a bug, or at least a feature that I'd prefer not to have
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll check into it.
