Is it possible to use the PVR-350 without a sound card?
The audio for my HTPC will come out my PVR-350. I don't need a sound card in the computer. When I don't have my sound card installed, I get an audio error message and I can't record or play. I don't want to waste a slot on the sound card, and my power supply is going to be taxed enough as it is. Is it possible to use SageTV without a sound card? Is this a driver issue? Is there a workaround? What settings do I make? Am I just doing something wrong?

Try changing your Audio Decoder and Filter settings in Detailed Setup > Audio to see if any change makes a difference. Make sure you put SageTV to sleep after each setting change.
In theory this should work. Anyone tried this with the PVR-350?

Changing the audio decoder and filter settings didn't help. It still gives the error that it can't playback the audio stream and refuses to play even the video. Can I somehow simulate an audio output device? Here's another idea. Is it possible to disable playback on the monitor? I don't need playback on the monitor, and, in fact, I would really prefer it not to playback on the monitor to save CPU cycles. If it didn't playback on the monitor, maybe it wouldn't try to use the software audio codecs. I just want playback out of the PVR-350 anyway.
