USB-UIRT & Linux Help

Hello, everyone. I've searched and keep coming up with some confusing information. So now I'm posting my question. I just bought and installed SageTV Linux edition. I also just received the USB-UIRT that I ordered. So far, SageTV is working pretty well.

I'd now like to install the USB-UIRT. Is this fully supported within the Linux version of SageTV? The only instructions I can find are the ones describing the installation in a Windows environment.

If this is supported, can someone give me help on the installation?

Thanks in advance...

There is currently no support for USB-UIRT for IR blasting but there is a tuner plugin that is available in this thread . I am currently trying to get this working but have been unsuccessful. I have LIRC working and I have the proper remote in my lircd.conf and irsend works but I cannot configure the tuner to work properly and use that remote entry. I believe the only supported way of using an IRblaster is to use the one that comes with a PVR150. If all you are looking to do is use a remote control in linux to control sage it does work since I am currently using a MCE remote and works just fine.

I have been considering switching to linux, and there are a few post on the USB-UIRT for regarding this - note this is not Sage specific, just how to get the USB-UIRT running in gentoo gnu/linux. Here is the link. You will likely what to check out other threads in that forum too...

Hope that helps,

- Corey
