HD Media Extender - Exactly When ?

I have just finished building my Sage TV Server and have one MVP Media Extender.

I need 5 more extenders and don't really want to by MVP's when I know that HD Media Extender is due out anytime now.

Has any one got a rough date/month when these HD Extenders will be out ?

Q2 has been given as a rough period.
We are all sitting tight waiting for it. I think that if it were out, even in beta, by May/June we all would be very happy .

Preorders are almost never a good ideal for consumers. I always avoid them, that and mail-in rebates

But each his own

Who is actually producing the HD extender? Is it a hauppauge product or someone else.

There is an awful lot of hype for a product that could possibly a repeat of the "wireless extender" fiasco.

I know you are excited, but at least wait for reviews and to see that the thing actually functions. I imagine it will be >$100.

The device in another thread that looks very familiar to the one at CES is ~$200USD IIRC.

Anyway, it's going to be a long while before you have an opportunity to spend money on this. Virtually all of these types of extender products come out long after their initially estimated release date. Given that it's mid-April and there is still no schedule for release I'd be shocked if it were to come out before September.

I also believe that Sage is doing us no favors by keeping us in the dark on this device. I believe its been four months since the last official statement at CES.
Come on Sage at least give us some kind of update, are we still gona get this in Q2 of 2007 or is it going to be a little longer!

Add me to the list of "me too" that would really like to hear from Sage on how the progress is coming and a realistic estimate on when we might see it. I would be in for 3 when available. It would be nice to get an idea...

No one, who is not under an NDA, knows who makes it but if it is a similar model to the one shown at CES then it could be Snazzio like or OEMed by Snazzio for SageTV.

The price of around $200 is very competive.

I don't think the SageTV HD extender will have a DVD player built in.

All this speculation and what ifs is driving me mad.

My SageTV pc can't handle h.264 and I am itching to upgrade yesterday....

Get comfortable. What do you think is more likely? They haven't updated the status in four months because they want it to be a super-neat surprise when it comes out in May? Or that it's taking so much longer than expected that they don't know when it will be available?
