Does placeshifter play .ts file properly?
I very seldom use placeshifter to play files but today I had a reason to try it. I tried two different files on two different systems with the same results. When I start watching the program appears to play OK, but the timeline goes to the end of the show and does not allow skip forward or backward. If I stop after a couple of minutes the show is marked as watched. Has anyone been able to play ts type files generated by the HDHR on placeshifter?
I am using placeshifter on my LAN and using the 6.1.7 version of the software.

i'm pretty sure this changed with 6.1 since it doesn't work for me either. be sure to set "mmc/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=true" in Sage properties so .ts files will be recorded as program streams instead. and PS will have no problems with those.

That property was changed in 6.1.7, here is the release note:
Core Updates 1. Changed property "encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream" to be encoder specific instead of global (so it's now in the mmc/encoders/ section) I do have it set true for the HDHR, but did not see any .ps files. I believe its only effect is to change the extension from .ts to .mpg. While reporting another issue to sage support, I asked how to verify .ps files were generated. Their reponse was: You cannot record PS files from the HDHR. It just doesn't do that. They'll always be TS files.

Until BDA support with the HDHR works with Sage they will always encode as TS. Once the BDA support is working then we'll be able to actually record program streams from the HDHR.
