Hauppauge HVR-2250
I only been using the new Hauppauge HVR-2250 a short time now, but I can confirm that the HVR-2250 works with the lastest SageTV beta release. Sage had no problems recognizing the tuner card (Listed as Hauppage WinTV-7164).
I was able to test the following sources:
SageTV keeps getting better and better. Cheers Windows XP Pro SP3 SageTV 6.4.6 HD - PVR HVR-2250 Nvidia DualTV |

I am getting excellent results with Hauppauge Nova-TD USB sticks (DVB-T).
I run Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit with 8GB RAM. I have two sticks working very reliably together (total four tuners). I am using the 3.11.26108.0 beta drivers. These sticks are more sensitive than the Nova-T 500 PCI cards I used previously; I can now tune all the channels available in my area without using the amplifier I needed before. I had to stop using my pair of Nova-T 500 cards because they were very unreliable on 64 bit Vista, even with only 2GB installed. I recently borrowed a Pinnacle Nano USB DVB-T stick and couldn't tune anything using the latest beta Vista x64 drivers, plus I got lockups in scanchannelsbdauk which only a machine reboot could resolve. That really takes some doing on Vista x64 - well done somebody! Last edited by fac13; 10-03-2008 at 01:24 AM. |

What I have to do after a restart to overcome this is to manualy and force Sage to tune a channel on every card, and then stop it again. After that everything else is fine - until next restart. Card 1: FloppyDTV C/CI with Viaccess CAM , Hardware version = 1.26.01, Firmware 1.4.0 Card 2: FloppyDTV C/CI with Viaccess CAM , Hardware version = 1.26.01, Firmware 2.4.0 BDA driver 4.8.0 Has always been an issue. I've recently set up an HTPC with two DVB-T PAL tuners as follows:
Tuner 1: Winfast Px DVR3200 H (PCI-e) using stock drivers. This is a PAL DVB-T hybrid tuner - but I'm only using the digital side of the tuner. Tuner 2: Dvico Dual Digital 4 (PCI - Black PCB) using latest drivers. This is a twin tuner DVB-T PAL card. Additionally, my setup uses the following components: - SBLIVE Audigy 2 ZS PCI sound card configured in 5.1 mode - Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS video card (Silent Pipe) - Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard - Intel Core 2 Duo 3.00GHz CPU - 2GB RAM (2 x 1GB) - Windows XP Professional SP2 - Connection to Plasma via standard VGA video cable The video card has a breakout box for component video, but I'm yet to give it a go as the results from the VGA cable are excellent. I experienced SageTV interface crashes when pressing STOP during recording / playback of TV and media. It turned out to be the codecs I was using. I upgraded to the Nvidia PureVideo codec (for video only) and that problem disappeared. Interestingly, the Nvidia PureVideo audio codec was laggy, so I went back to the Sage audio codec which is just fine for 5.1 audio. I have Sage running as a service, but have not gone Client / Server at this stage. I hope that this helps some others who are considering using the (currently unsupported) tuner cards that I'm using with SageTV. What an outstanding product! |

Using Hauppauge WinTV-HVR Hybrid TV Stick 950Q MModel 1191
Win XP Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 4GB RAM AMD 64 X2 3800 Working, but poor video quality. Tuner card works well with Win TV software (very clear picture in regular and HD). I think it is a config issue, and about ready to give up. Had posted another thread, but no replies yet. If I can only figure out why the redering is so poor. Doesn't look like using GPU |

Note if you have a Hauppauge PVR 500 you will be limited to 3GB memory. Quote:

AVerMedia AVerTVHD Duet
I have 2 AVerMedia AVerTVHD Duet cards installed and all 4 are working like a champ!
See my specs in my sig. I'm running an NF4 Ultra mobo and was having issues with an 8500GT 512gb pci-e card. Switched to a 3450 and couldn't be happier! I may skip buying an additional HD200 for now and use my existing HD200 in the livingroom and use the "server" as an HTPC in the basement!

Leadtek PVR3000 working ok, with original drivers, but at channels search blue screen appear, in SageTv, ChrisTV, Mediacenter.
Use latest Beta drivers for this problem. The remote work with Sage, if you turn on in Winfast Wizard: Use remote with MCE, after this remote working in all pvr's partial. Sage has the advantage with changing remote buttons, it's the first time i see this in an pvr. But, after installing Sage my Mediacenter Live Tv does not start, because of an .dll from Sage. |

I don't know if anyone pays any attention to this thread any more or if this card is on the list, but a VistaView DA-1in1-I does not work properly with SageTV. The ATSC tuner works fine, but I cannot record or watch live TV from the S-Video input. I've tried it with Sage installed on XP and with Vista and doesn't work on either. When you try to play, it says something about an audio compression error. I had read a review on this card and the review even tried it with Sage and claimed it worked, but not for me. I thought the card was defective, but tried it in an MCE 05 PC, and it worked perfectly.

I do not know if I have a slightly different version then the people who claimed it work but the AverTV HD duet A188c is not working for me. Sage sees it, but it does not see any channels in QAM or OTA. Fresh install of 6.6 on Vista. Avermedia software works.
On a side note, I did notice that on a clean install the scanning of the card is really quick. It scanned the entire 190 something QAM channels in probably 3 minutes. When I used the beta native recording patch it took 15-20 minutes, similar to the hvr-1600. Oh well, off to take my 15% hit. Edit: I'm going to hold off on saying its compatible. Either the v16 update of Java or UAC was stopping sage from seeing new channels. A different tuner did similar until I turned those two things off. Edit2: I may have had a dieing HVR-1600 causing all of this. Last edited by Ryokurin; 09-19-2009 at 08:46 AM. |

Pre-modified R5000 ViP211 received. Some dropped recordings. Moved to _15 Java and the problem appears to have gone away.
Buyer beware..... You buy the R5000, you install the R5000 (modified receiver or modify your own reciever) then you get to pay an additional $50 if you actaully want to USE your R5000 with Sage!!!! You will only find this out when you go to download the software. Had it not been for the above experience, I would be a perfectly happy newbie as the quality is fantastic! |

Replaced my Hauppauge HVR-1600 with SiliconDust's HDHomeRun and found the tuner sensitivity MUCH better on OTA which is what we use exclusively. It is more expensive but I needed to get a Baltimore channel and we live just south of Washington, DC. Set up was easy. But I still get stumped by SageTV's EPG setup process when I need to remap. Oh, well maybe that gets simplified in the next release.
