Which version?
Does anyone know where I can get the cheapest SageTV software?
I see PCAlchemy has version 6 for $69.95, but I'm not sure if this is the latest version.... Also, does the latest version still work with (I know it's not offically supported) pvr-350 tv-out? Last question, if I buy V6 (?) does this include any type of upgrade to either 6 (.2 etc) or 7? thanks |

If you buy from pcalchemy, it comes with a 6.0 licence (in fact I believe you just get an email from Sage with your key and you still download from Sage) that works with 6.1 that just came out. In the past, Sage has given upgrades away free, with Sage 6.0, they charged a 30 or 40 dollar upgrade free. I don't know if this was a one time upgrade fee and that 7.0 will be free or not, that is still to be seen.

Ok thanks....I sure hope so, I would hate to have to shell out $70 again for 7.....
Also, do you know if the pvr-350 tv-out is still 'working' in this version? thanks |

I won't be able to answer your question about the PVR350. Last I knew, it worked but completely buggy. Most just use their pvr350 for recording, and get a good vid card for output.
As far as upgrade, when Sage did require an upgrade fee from 5.x to 6.0, they changed (I think) $30 for a short time. So even if they do require an upgrade, it PROBABLY won't be the full 70 or 80 (however, that can always change). I am still running 5.04 myself.

Nothing has been done to disable the 350-out. But I agree that it's completely buggy. Get an MVP or as suggested, a good video card.

The keys we sell at PCAlchemy are the same ones available directly from SageTV. There is no difference between a 6.0 key and a 6.1 key.
