New SageTV logo

Is it me or does anyone else not like the new green 'leafy' looking logo?

I kinda liked the older spinning circles, and the logo looked real nice if you had it drawn in a 3-D like overlapping glass balls.

Just a comment,

BUT I must say, for me, and a clean install, the newer SageTV is noticably smoother and faster than the old one!

Great job to the guys at SAGETV!!

I always think of the BP (gas) symbol when I see it. I do like the new spinning icon for when its "thinking".

It was about time for an updated icon though. How long was the previous icon active for?

Nothing; I am Irish (among other things; American mutt here) I just don't want to think "it's magically delicious" everytime I watch TV.

Perhaps it doesn't make me feel Irish so much as it makes me hungry

I think, it's just odd, and just like the old one - we'll get used to it pretty quickly

It's not that bad

I kinda like the new logo.

A new fad for a lot of companies is to "go green" (environment). My company has poured a lot of marketing money into researching "green". I've even read a few articles on it on how many consumers are now drawn to "green" so it makes them feel better as if they're saving out planet. Yeah, anyway. Now, in the case of SageTV's icon going "green", I doubt this is an environment decision, more of a new look.

Like I said before, I like the new logo. I'm not thrilled about it, but I like it more than the last.

I think there should have been a contest with several entries.

Anybody notice that the old logo is still at the top of the page

I gotta say that I'm not a fan of the new logo. There's no visible detail which makes it look like a green blob.

Its web 2.0ish. It makes the program looks friendly and easy to use. Either way its just a logo.

Any chance of having the icon configurable?

Which icon? You can change the one in the Sage UI by replacing the image file in Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 with whatever graphic you prefer. Start menu and shortcut icons can be changed from the right-click Properties dialog. The system tray icon is a bit more challenging, since it requires replacing the icon in the EXE, but I'm guessing there's probably any number of freeware/shareware tools out there for doing that.

That's exactly what my wife said when I updated.

I don't care for it.

I liked the old image better, but this one doesn't particularly bother me. My girlfriend, on the other hand, absolutely hates the new logo...

Hmm...

vs.

Yeah, I'd be worried about trademark infringement, Sage. Better change the logo back right now!

I like the new logo if only because it is easier to see on my workstation desktop.

Our company just switched to a new logo - oops, it's not a logo, it's a "brand". It's a putrid green square, with a putrid green gradient overlay (yah, go figure). You can tell we spent a ton of money on it, because it came with a 32 page usage manual, telling us how it is to be positioned on the page (surrounded by a "white space" gutter of 1/2 the logo's size on all sides - our webmaster is throwing fits), minimum size, etc., etc..

IMO, unless there is a glaringly real need (i.e. infringement, original designed by the CEO's 5 year old when he incorporated in his basement, etc.) for a new logo, it just shows that someone has too much time on their hands. There are MANY more important things to worry about in running a business.
