Editing MPEGs and burning CDs

WinTV MPEG editor comes with Haup 150 pvr card and Ulead Movie DVD Factory as well. I didn't get these with my 150 MCE pvr.

I'm wanting to edit recordings and save to DVD or CDs. How are the above products?

Does anyone have any recommendations for decent MPEG editors and similar software to create/burn DVD or Video CDs that will play on a DVD player?

(sorry if this post is to the wrong group)

Thanks,
Marty

I use VideoReDo to edit the mpeg2 files. VideoReDo was recommended by many people who use the SageTV forums. I used to use TMPGEnc DVD Author before I bought VideoReDo. Now, I use VideoReDo for editing the mpeg2 files and TMPGEnc for burning the DVDs. VideoReDo allows you to edit many files, saving each editing job for later processing. After editing many files, the editing process can be run in batch mode, unattended. VideoReDo also has a 'quickfix' feature which can clean up video files.

neilm's correct. Look for Bob Phoenix's VideoEditor plugin. It lets you edit right through the SageTV UI, it works with ComSkip, and should you require it, the resulting video can be easily burned to DVD using EvilPenguin's DVD Burning addon.

The VideoEditor plugin is very well designed, and is pretty intuitive to use. And best of all, you can use it from SageTV's 10' UI with your remote. No mouse or keyboard required.
