I haven't tested this on an MVP yet, but I will when I get a chance. Hopefully it is just a matter of loading the STV (on your MVP) that you already imported the calendar into. If it works, you will probably want to disable the Navbar, since animations are very very slow on the MVP.

Aloha,
Mike

I guess I really did not understand how the import funcion worked. I didn't realize that it renames the STV by incrementing it by -1. After your last post, I tried reloading the Sage MC STV and saw the SageMC_169-1.xml file, loaded that, and now the calendar function works great on my MVP.

Thanks again.

I just got around to installing this tonight, and unfortunatly, I don't see any data on the calendar.

When I select the calendar on the home screen, I get a spinning sage icon for about 10-15 seconds before it displays the calendar. Every day is just blank. I have tried adding events, however they don't actually add to my Google Calendar. (In the Sage view or when viewing my calendar via the web)

Would providing debug logs or anything help? I am running Java 1.6 with the version of SageTV just released today. I am using Dirk's latest SageMC, with the liquid theme. No other imports.

Thanks!

*edit* I left Sage running on the Calendar screen while writing this post, and I just went back and looked. The data is now visible in the Calendar. I have no idea what changed. Does it take a long time to initially download the data?

Did you add the necessary lines with your username and password to your sage.properties (or sageclient.properties) file?

You read my post really fast! Check my edit, things are working smoothly now. I have no idea why though.

Glad to hear it's working now.

I'm not sure why it would have taken so long. It downloads all of my data in a matter of seconds. Please let me know if it continues to act strangely.

Aloha,
Mike

Nice! Great job this looks really nice.

This may not be worth the work, but I'll suggest it and let you decide. Could the calendar icon be moved to the other side of the screen next to or under the clock? Or better yet, could the clock be incorporated into it and replace the clock altogether?

Just a thought. Thanks for all your hard work. On this and your graphic packs. They add a lot to the usability of Sage!

Thank you very much. I just want to point out again that Dirk (flachbar) did the most important work on this plugin. He has been pretty silent in the forums because he has been busy lately, so I want to make sure he gets the recognition he deserves.

Anyway, I like your suggestion and I'll keep it in mind. There are a few other things I have to get to first, but then I'll look into it. Hmm... I actually just had a few interesting thoughts about this. Thanks!

Aloha,
Mike

1. It works great on the default client
2. It works great with extender
3. It doesn't work so great with placeshifter on XP with my main rig.

On PS and XP I've had it lock the UI up 2 or 3 times and gave up

Also, on the front SageMC window the calendar shows up but when you put the highlighter box on top of the calendar it only covers like 1/4 of it

I really wish I had more time to try and run logs, but I'm just running out of time at home.

I also noticed that if I try and do the STVi import via the extender or PS it does not work. However, if I do the import on the main machine...it works like a champ.

Problem installing

Got a problem installing the Google calendar. (Which I'm sure I've done something wrong, I just cant' find it.)

Quick run-down of my environment
Using an MVP
Java version 1.5.0_6
Sage 6.1.8 (service)
SageMC 6.3.2c

I installed the import, but didn't seen anything added to the main menu. I changed Custom1 to point to the Calendar Screen. When I select this menu the calendar is displayed, but the main menu is visible beneath it. Also if I use the arrow keys to move around the calendar just overlays the previous one.

I saw an earlier post about Background.png needing to be copied into the images folder, but that image already existed.

I've stopped and restarted the Sage service and unplugged the MVP several times. I've reloaded the original SageMC STV.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick...

Did you make sure your background.png file is selected under SageMC Options? I believe it is the last setting under Visual.

Aloha,
Mike

I wasn't using a specific background just the default that came with SageMC. It's located in the SageMCE\Images folder.

...ok I just checked. The background image setting in the SageMC options was empty. I selected background.png from the Images folder. Same results. The calendar is transparent with the main menu visible.

This is a known issue with Greg's import library we are using. Currently you have to do the import on server or client and then load the STV into PS / MVP.

I have thought about this too, but it would be impossible to navigate to it (at least without a mouse) since the "Right" command opens the submenu popup...

Does #1 mean you do not have MC loaded? If so, how did you load it as an STVi in the default?

Talking Some press for SageTV

It must have been a slow news day on Friday.

Both Missingremote.com and PVR Wire posted brief entries on the Google Calendar plugin. Needless to say, I was pretty shocked when I saw them.

Aloha,
Mike
