Trouble again

I got the calendar icon up in the main menu view, and I can get into the calendar. But it doesn't load any of my calendar content from my Google account - I just get an empty calendar.

My SageClient.properties is full of google stuff, but my Sage.Properties only has the google account info that I typed in (and that it has magically placed into alphabetical order in the file).

Any idea of what I am missing? I have checked the google account details 10 times and they are correct. Also I have tried from both my Server and one PC client in the house.

I think you need to put the account info into your sageclient.properties file.

Mike,

I noticed in your import that you use the syntax...

Code:
ref>>Theme:MenuTheme
I've never seen or read about that before, so I was wondering where you got that from and how it works?

Scott,

this is generated code by Greg's import tools. Simply the easiest way to generate imports right now, highly recommended

Sageclient.properties

This is how my sageclient.properties file looks like - on the client PC.

(I have changed my real account details for the shot).

Any ideas of why it isn't working?

By the way: When I try to add things in the empty calendar inside sage, it doesn't register it - could this give any clue to what is wrong?

Could you enable debug logging and post your log? You can find a link to the instructions for debug logging in flachbar's signature (3 posts up). Once logging is enabled, just start SageTV and then go into the the calendar screen.

Also, are you running at least java 1.5 and SageTV v6.x and the latest SageMC (v6.3.2c)?

Aloha,
Mike

You use your full google account name (e.g. mathias@gmail.com) for google_calendar/user, right ?

Can't find download link for calendar

I'm going to feel really stupid when someone tells me the answer to this, but I can't find the download for this calendar plug-in. Of course, I know I'm already delusional in thinking my wife will want to put calendar entries into the computer rather than the manual calendar on the wall.

Off I go to work to play computer professional! - Brad

In the downloads section. Usually a link is posted in the first post, but I didn't see one either.

I'm not sure what's going on here. Could you post your log file? That might help. Maybe I can give you a couple of suggestions once I see the log file. Flachbar is the java guru, maybe he might have an idea when he sees this.

Aloha,
Mike

Wow. It looks like nothing is working. Can you check to make sure the calendar.jar file is actually in your ...\SageTV\JARs\ folder? Also, it might be worth updating your java to the latest v1.6.0_1.

Aloha,
Mike

I might have compiled the calendar.jar file with Java 1.6, which will not be readable by your 1.5 version. If you really need to use Java 1.5, I can recompile the java code, but I would strongly recommend to upgrade to 1.6 anyway, there are memory issues reported with SageTV and 1.5. Java 1.6 is absolutely stable, and SageTV is much faster with this version for everyone I know of.

OK I'll try and upgrade to 1.6 and see how it goes.

Any simple instructions for upgrading to 1.6?

Multiple Java versions can coexist on your system, so all you have to do is to download the latest 1.6 java version from the SUN download site and install it. After you restart the UI, check in the Settings screen on the right that Sage is really using the new 1.6 java version (otherwise there are easy steps to change this in the registry, but try this first)

Something I just thought of...

I ask a lot of people to send me/post their sage.properties file so I can check and see if they have everything setup correctly. Currently, if they're using this STVi, it'll show me/the world their gmail password. Is there anything you guys could do to hide it, possibly make a separate preference file for those two items?

I agree. I'll talk to Dirk to see if we can come up with something.
