Question BeyondTV Competitive Upgrade

I am a BTV user and i am very disastified with the product. My question is a 2 fold question

1. Does SAGE have a competitive upgrade policy, I have spent much $$ already on BTV.

2. Has anyone documented a conversion from BTV -> SAGE. The primary reason I purchased BTV originally was the fact i could buy a 'all in one solution', software, remote, DVR Card, IR Blaster (via HP 150 Card). I am really not interested in replacing parts either (already in too much hot water on how much i have spent). I have no issue with re-typing descriptions, etc in movie files, it is the hardware i am most worried about.

My biggest gripe other than the non-integrated media/tv of BTV is the constant bugs i keep finding (BeyondTV Link doesnt work with proxy settings set for IE/ DVD Burner software will not burn DVD's / AVI files that play fine with everything else in the world will not play in BTV - just to name a few)

Thanks, look forward to a response.

sage's software license isn't very expensive.
me, I just use a Hauppauge PVR USB2 tuner with built-in infrared and comes with a remote. But I don't do HD. I burn DVDs on a different PC.
A dedicated laptop (quiet) with some USB2 disk drives runs SAGE.

How about your hardware? Did you check the supported hardware list? Very likely you will be just fine. And there will be more stuff you could use now, like the HDHomeRun. As far as the BTV licences are concerned, you would have to sell them, just as I did two years ago.

madmagi,
Welcome to the forums. You will find many people here who love Sage and think it's a better product than BTV or Windows MC.

Could you post a detailed description of your PC in question with all the hardware specs? In all probability, you only need to buy the software. Your hardware will hopefully be fine. Now, that doesn't mean there isn't better hardware out there, like the aforementioned HDHomeRun. That truly is a fantastic HD tuner if you need that capability.
