SageTv, s-vhs input and IR transmitter..

I have a cable set top box connected to my Hauppauge 250 PVR using the s-vhs input. (I can not use the tuner). With this setup I only have 1 TV channel according to what the PVR “thinks”. In order for me to change channels I have to change them manually on the set top box using the remote control. I also do not have any EPG service available so i`ll have to create EPG files manually. Does SageTv support importing of EPG files?
If I’ll buy an IR transmitter (like the USB-UIRT), will the SageTv be able to flip the channel on my set top box before recording starts? Please remember that the channels reported by the EPG file are for the cable set top box and not for the TV capturing card.

Yes, Sage has an integrated EPG, and should be able to downlaod and display based on your local cable service channel line-up.

Yes, with an IR Blaster like the USB-UIRT or the Actysis Sage will change the channels on you cable box. (Or if you have Direct TV or a compatible Motorola DCT2000 box you can use serial control. Do a forum search for more info there.)
