Same show, 2 times a day....

Is there any way to record a show just ONCE a day when it airs more than once and on different channels..

There are a couple shows that I want to record that are in my "Favorites" that are on multiple times a day, and on different channels (PBS likes to do this).. I would like to ensure I get only 1 copy of each program, not two...

I haven't actually gotten my system up yet (It's a Christmas thing), but I have read through the manual and don't see any option to 'record show once'.. I see first run and repeats.. but nothing ensuring the same show doesn't get recorded twice.

If there is a description of each episode, then SageTV will automatically record the show only once.

In other words, if there is a show that doesn't list details that are specific enough to determine which episode it is (Show ID?), Sage will continue to record it multiple times. For example: my listings for "Whose Line is it Anyway?" don't specify the exact episode, so I keep getting the same shows every time they are shown... not repeatedly on the same day, but they still repeat.

Normally, you will only get one recording for each episode, and if it airs multiple times, Sage will choose to record the one that doesn't conflict with other recordings.

And, of course, it will still catch the show if its airing time changes... so much nicer than VCRs... except when your 2 month old 200GB drive fails completely. <ouch>
