I should clarify that CPU goes ballistic when I'm navigating. So, it's the graphics that are really causing issues, navigating, anything that Sage has to deal with...regular video is pretty decent on the CPU if that's all I'm doing. Well if you don't see the nvidia icon the decoder is either not running or you are one of the very few people who experience the problem of no icon appearing even the decoder is running....
I think there is a thread somewhere about this. But I suspect that given the problems you are having, the decoder may not be running at all. Another way to get the decoder control panel is to install RadLight Filter Manager. Go into directshow filters and click on properties for the Nvidia Video Decoder. Here you can also up the priority of the decoder so that it overrides other you may have.
